Volks Mythica Joins the Assembly Ecosystem

Not only is distributed ledger technology (DLT) revolutionizing the world of finance; it is well on its way to conquering the gaming sector. With a total value of over $3 billion locked in 2021 alone and highly promising growth predictions for the next few years, crypto gaming aims to take over a large market share of the legacy gaming sector. But due to the inherent issues of scalability and gas fees in monolithic blockchains, crypto gaming still faces functionality limitations. IOTA's highly scalable, feeless base layer in combination with the unique features of the Assembly network promises to be a – if you'll pardon the pun – game-changer.
Therefore, we're pleased to announce that VolksMythica, a collectible combat strategy game currently being built on IOTA, is gearing up to bring play-to-earn to the recently-announced Assembly network at launch.
Volks Mythica introduces itself
Volks Mythica fuses ancient folk tales and myths with Web3 through an NFT collectible play-to-earn game.
As a player in Volks Mythica, you earn rewards by using unique NFT characters, called “Volks”, to collect items and battle other players. Volks are at the heart of Volks Mythica, and are fully tradeable NFTs living on the IOTA Tangle. They also make use of one of the most exciting features of IOTA's unique Tokenization framework: the possibility for NFTs to own other NFTs. This feature also provides versatile expansion features by enabling NFTs to be added to Volks to upgrade their skills and abilities. The use of the IOTA network’s Tokenization framework provides incredible versatility in the use of complex digital assets and NFT systems that push the boundaries of our gaming and metaverse applications.
We designed Volks Mythica in a way that every Volks character and item is an NFT, including swords, shields, ritual objects, and more. Your Volks character owns a set of these NFT items, which you can use in epic battles or quests.
By exploring the Volks Mythica world, you can collect more NFT items that expand the features and abilities of your Volks character. In the "breeding" process, your NFTs can be combined with \$JADE token crystals that are collected during the game. You will be able to create unique Volks characters in this breeding process. These super-powered Volks enable you to access new features and regions in the mythological world of Volks Mythica.
Another exciting feature of VolksMythica we will be adding is in-game NFT trading, which will allow players to earn rewards when they collect high-powered NFT items or create especially powerful new Volks through the breeding functionality. We expect those highly skilled NFT characters to become incredibly valuable for other gamers, and we envision the growth of a flourishing market.
Volks Mythica is powered by our native VOLK governance token and JADE utility token, which come with multiple reward opportunities such as staking NFTs and potential bonus airdrops.

About Assembly
Assembly (www.assembly.sc) is designed as a parallelized multi-chain network of blockchains offering sharded, composable smart contracts, anchored into the feeless IOTA DAG protocol. Assembly’s sharded multi-chain nature will provide flexibility, scalability, and interoperability as a smart contract network for mainstream innovation and mass adoption. It will do so by offering flexible smart contract execution fees, fast and secure smart contract execution, trustless and feeless native asset transfers across utility chains, full customization of utility chains, composability of dApps, compatibility with the Ethereum virtual machine and other VMs in the future.
In Assembly, anyone will be enabled to launch their own smart contract chain as a utility chain, offering flexible customization of execution fees and incentive structures for validators. Any Assembly utility chain will be overseen by the open, permissionless, decentralized and dynamic Assembly validator pool, executing and validating smart contracts deployed to the utility chains. Validators can be requested by utility chains from the Assembly root chain using an open marketplace.
